From Jewish Gold to Kosher Kush

Originally called Jewish Gold, breeders changed the name as popularity surged. They backcrossed Kosher Kush seeds to double the trouble. Only the best phenotypes make the cut to increase consistency.

This strain boasts incredible genetics. It won Best Indica at the 2010 and 2011 Cannabis Cups. It also scooped first place at the 2012 Medical Cannabis Cup.

Its history traces back to a clone-only version from Los Angeles, California. It’s also called Kosher OG, and some experts believe OG Kush was one of the original parents.

Earth and fruit taste explosion

Consumers revere this strain for its odorous qualities. Massive concentrations of trichomes provide a glistening, sugary coat reminiscent of White Widow. The dominant terpenes are limonene, myrcene, and caryophyllene.

The plants boast an earthy aroma tinged with sweet fruits. This cultivar is famed for sky-high potency and an epic flavor palette. Kosher Kush seeds grow into dense and stinky buds with a carpet of orange hairs. They give off fresh lemon and citrus tones.

The decadent flavors befit a Cannabis Cup winner. The inhale features pine, lemon, and earthy notes. The exhale is smooth and creamy. Delicious dessert flavors tickle your taste buds.

Kosher Kush sedates you late

Kosher Kush seeds produce mostly indica buds with typical effects. This cultivar is a favorite evening treat for many after a long day at work.

Initially uplifting, it breathes positivity and cheerfulness into you. It elevates your mood, and arty types like the creative buzz that focuses attention in the short term. Tokers note talkative reactions and increased comfort in social situations.

The initial euphoric and cerebral reaction eventually morphs into a relaxing full-body stone. Kosher Kush may also relieve pain or stress. It’s heavy-hitting, providing rest and sedation.

High THC readings of around 22% can produce extensive reactions. Even experienced consumers moderate consumption to avoid overwhelming effects.

Growing Kosher Kush: Blessed yields

Kosher Kush seeds are easy to grow, and even beginners can reap heavy yields. Use the paper towel method to sprout your seeds. It’s cost-effective and delivers results. Germination typically takes 1–5 days.

Wet a paper towel with purified water. Lay it flat on a plate. Place the marijuana seeds on the towel with at least an inch of space between them. Take another moist sheet and drape it over the seeds to cover them. Flip over a second plate and use it to enclose the medium.

Put the plates in a warm, dark, dry place that’s easy to access. Remove and plant the seeds to their permanent medium when they sprout a taproot.

You can grow Kosher Kush seeds indoors, outside, or in a greenhouse. Indoor operations offer total control. You determine what goes into your buds. Most people choose traditional soil mediums, but hydroponic operations yield more heavily.

As almost pure indicas, these marijuana plants grow surprisingly tall. They can reach over six feet, so indoor cultivators may need to top them. Experts suggest using the Sea of Green (SOG) or Screen of Green (ScrOG) style.

These methods boost light coverage to maximize the quantity and quality of buds. Trim excess leaves and popcorn buds. Regular maintenance increases airflow and improves overall crop health.

Begin feeding after the seedling stage. In the vegetative phase, plants need heavy doses of nitrogen (N). Choose an NPK fertilizer that powers explosive development.

Run indoor lights for 18–20 hours, with 4–6 hours of darkness.

Induce flowering by changing the schedule to 12 hours on and 12 off. It tricks the plants into thinking the seasons are changing. They focus on flower development instead of structural growth. Change the fertilizer to one higher in potassium and phosphorus.

After 9–10 weeks of bloom, you can collect moderate to heavy yields. Expect 16–19 oz./m² in complementary indoor conditions.

You can also grow Kosher Kush seeds outdoors in temperate or continental climates. Temperatures between 70–80⁰F are optimal. Choose a warm, dry spot with plenty of direct sun. Make sure it’s out of the wind.

High relative humidity (RH) around 70% is great for seedlings. Don’t feed the sensitive youngsters, as the chemicals may kill them. Gradually taper off the RH to around 40% by the flowering phase.

Outdoors, cannabis starts to flower after the summer solstice. This period occurs on June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere. The trichomes should change from clear to cloudy in early October. When over 50% are milky, you can reap up to 19 oz./plant outdoors.
